FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference volleyball match to visiting Piedmont International University, falling 3-0 tonight at Swartz Gym. Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 25-22.

Piedmont International raced out to a 15-8 lead before cruising to the opening set win, with Cydne Moore getting a kill on set point. In the second set, the Bruins led 11-9 before using a 10-4 run to grab a 21-13 lead. Mariah Robinson closed the set out with a kill off Chelsea Edwards' assist.
The third set was neck and neck, with three points separating the two teams much of the way. Cameron Hawkins cut Ferrum's deficit to 24-22 with a kill off an Ashley Roberts set, only to see Edwards close the match out with a kill on the next point.
Olivia Bullard had 10 kills for Piedmont International, while Edwards had 24 assists and 11 digs. Bly had eight kills for Ferrum, Roberts had 16 assists, Arielle Tritt had 11 assists. Hawkins and Henley each registered six kills for the Panthers.
Coach Ruthanne Duffy's team will be back in action Thursday, October 31, at William Peace University. The non-conference match gets underway at 7:00 p.m. in Raleigh, North Carolina.
