FRONT ROYAL, Virginia -- Ferrum College came up big on the road, topping Christendom in a non-conference affair in just four sets. The win snapped a nine-game losing streak for the Panthers.

Christendom (8-15)

Ferrum def. Christendom 25-14, 21-25, 25-15, 25-21

Ferrum College got things started early, taking the first set with ease, 25-14. The second set saw Christendom battle back and even up the match at 1-1 with a 25-21 victory over the Panthers. That was as close as the Crusaders would come to the Panthers though, as Ferrum College would take the next two sets in clinching the road victory.

Cameron Hawkins and Layura Henley led the Panthers in the hitting department, recording seven kills apiece. Hawkins also sported a .211 hitting percentage, second best on the night for Ferrum. Henley added seven assists and 12 digs to her credit in the match. Arielle Tritt led the Panthers with 11 assists, as Ashley Roberts was right behind her with ten of her own. Kayla Divers had a good showing on the back row, as she notched a team-high 18 digs to add to Ferrum's cause.

"We're very happy to get a W after last night's match against Christendom. We had some focuses that we have worked on this week and our team was able to consistently work on those as we played. We are proud of this team for continuing to battle and evolve as our season nears the end." --Head Coach Ruthanne Duffy

The Panthers will be back in action Saturday, October 19 as they are set to host Old Dominion Athletic Conference foes Roanoke College and Randolph-Macon College for a conference tri-match. The full day of action is slated to start at 11:00 a.m. in Swartz Gymnasium.
