BRIDGEWATER, Virginia -- Ferrum College ended up on the losing end of two Old Dominion Athletic Conference volleyball matches Saturday afternoon, falling to Washington and Lee University and Bridgewater College.

Ferrum (3-11, 0-5 ODAC)
Bridgewater (17-1, 6-0 ODAC)
Washington and Lee (13-4, 3-2 ODAC)

W&L def. Ferrum 25-10, 25-12, 25-6
Bridgewater def. Ferrum 25-14, 25-16, 25-21

Freshman Molly Patterson led the Panthers in kills against W&L, recording four. Cameron Hawkins and Chemaiya Jordan were close behind, notching three apiece. Ashley Roberts and Arielle Tritt both contributed seven assists for the Panthers. Layura Henley was the mainstay for the Panthers on the back row, collecting a team-high 14 digs.

Patterson was again the Panther's top hitter against Bridgewater, matching her game one performance of four kills. Roberts and Tritt both shared the setting duties, both amounting six assists. Henley was the only Panther with double-figures in the dig department, notching 13, tied for a match high.

"Today's tri-match was with two teams at the top of the conference, so we knew we were going to have to bring our best package to Bridgewater. Unfortunately, match one was not the best showcase of our abilities, but we made a huge improvement from match one to match two in terms of bringing more energy to the court and playing our game. Once we are able to maintain our consistency, I think we will be headed in a better direction." --Head Coach Ruthanne Duffy

Coach Duffy's team will be back in action at home to take on Hollins University Tuesday, October 1. The ODAC match is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
