Ferrum Beats Pfeiffer 3-0 in Volleyball

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College won a non-conference volleyball match at home against visiting Pfeiffer University, winning 3-0 at Swartz Gym. Set scores were 25-18. 25-19, 25-13.The win snaps a five game losing streak for the Panthers.

The Panthers coasted through the first set, closing it out on a kill each by Kaelyn Daniel and Cheyenne Strickland. Kayla Divers closed out the second set for Ferrum with a service ace. The Panthers then jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the third set and never looked back in closing out the match.

Our women have been fighting so hard lately with the last five out of seven before tonight's match going to five sets and we really needed this win. Head coach Ruthanne Duffy's team will be back in action Friday, October 12, at home against Virginia Wesleyan University. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Swartz Gym.
