FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College volleyball team dropped a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference matches this afternoon at home in a league tri-meet, falling 3-0 to Washington & Lee University and 3-0 Bridgewater College at Swartz Gym.
Washington & Lee (7-8, 4-1 ODAC)
Bridgewater (14-3, 4-1 ODAC)
Ferrum (7-8, 0-4 ODAC)
The Generals proved to be too much in the first match, never allowing Ferrum to hit the 20-point mark. In the second match, W&L beat Bridgewater 3-0. The Eagles then stopped Ferrum 3-0 to close out the day. This was Ferrum's first home league tri-meet.
BEHIND THE WHISTLE
"We had two incredibly strong opponents today, and although I think we competed with them for the most part, we did not play our best volleyball. We need to become more consistent with playing with energy and becoming more discipline. Although we lost today I still think there is so much potential that remains untapped. With only one more month of volleyball left, I hope we can make and adapt to the necessary changes to improve and show everyone that we can compete in the ODAC." -- Head Coach Ruthanne Duffy
BACK ON COURT
Duffy's team will be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 2, at home against Shenandoah University. The ODAC match begins at 7:00 p.m. at Swartz Gym.
