Panthers Drop ODAC Volleyball Heartbreaker at Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference volleyball match to the University of Lynchburg tonight on the road, falling 3-2 at Turner Gym. Set scores were 25-23, 25-12, 22-25, 10-25, 15-5.

Lynchburg (5-7, 1-1 ODAC)
Ferrum (7-6, 0-2 ODAC)

The Panthers dropped a tight first set then a quick second set, but rebounded with a pair of wins in sets three and four. In the fifth set, the score was tied 2-2 when the Hornets went on an 8-0 run to take control. Ferrum battled back, but the 10-2 deficit was too much to overcome down the stretch.

Ferrum will host an ODAC tri-meet Saturday, Sept. 29, with Bridgewater College and Washington & Lee University. The Panthers face W&L at noon, Bridgewater and W&L play each other at 2:00 p.m., then Ferrum and Bridgewater play at 4:00 p.m.
