Ferrum Women Win on Senior Day

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's women's tennis team picked up an Old Dominion Athletic Conference win over Sweet Briar College this afternoon at home, winning 8-1 at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts.

SENIOR SENDOFF
Prior to the match, the Panthers held a special Senior Day ceremony to honor three players who will graduate this May; Morgan Scott, Alexandria Dixon and Addison Philpott.

THE BASICS
Scott and her sister Mallory Scott hung on for a 9-7 win at #1 doubles to help Ferrum complete a sweep and grab the early 3-0 lead. Also winning in doubles were Dixon and Jordan Thompson at #2, and Autum Murray-Burns and Philpott at #3, both by identical 8-0 scores.

The Panthers then stormed through singles, winning five of six matches. Murray-Burns, Dixon, Thompson, Chelsea Zizzi and Hailee Green posted straight-set wins at #2-6, respectively, to wrap up the match and give Ferrum its seventh win this season.
