FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's tennis match to University of Lynchburg this afternoon at home, falling 9-0 at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts.
Lynchburg (1-0, 1-0 ODAC)
Ferrum (0-2, 0-2 ODAC)
Lynchburg grabbed an early 3-0 lead after taking all three doubles matches. Jordan Thompson and Hailee Green dropped a hard-fought match in the #3 spot, losing 8-6 to Reagan Coon and Sarah Wyly.
The Hornets then swept all six singles matches. Ferrum's Alexandria Dixon took the opening set 6-2 from Wyly in the #2 singles spot, but dropped the second set 6-2 to force a winner-take-all third set. Since Lynchburg had already claimed the team win, a super tiebreak was played instead of a complete third set, with Wyly earning a 10-5 win.
