FERRUM, Va. -- Director of Athletics Abe Naff has announced the promotion of Erin Saleeby to Head Women's Soccer Coach. Saleeby had previously served as assistant coach five seasons under James Lofton, who resigned in February to take a position with the Virginia Tech men's soccer coaching staff.
Saleeby joined the Ferrum athletics staff as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach in August 2014. Prior to that, she served as junior varsity coach at Franklin County High School for nine seasons, as well as an assistant U18 girls coach for Franklin County Star, and director of the Academy for Franklin County Star. Before coming to Ferrum, she also worked as a Qualified Mental Health Clinician.
Saleeby played in college at NCAA Div. II Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she earned All-Conference second team honors in the Carolinas Conference her senior year. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Elementary Education from Queens in 2009. Saleeby later earned her master's degree from Walden University in 2011, majoring in Psychology of Culture.
A native of Rocky Mount, Virginia, Saleeby is a 2005 graduate of Franklin County High School. She played soccer four years for the Eagles, and also competed in cross country, indoor and outdoor track.
