VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Ferrum College's women's lacrosse team dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference game at Virginia Wesleyan University Saturday, April 27, falling 21-4 at Birdsong Field.

Virginia Wesleyan raced out to a 6-0 lead less than 1 minutes into the game, including a pair of goals each by Tori Manahan and Renee Burt. Kaitlyn Harley broke up the shutout with an unassisted goal at 19:10 of the first half.
The Marlins responded with four goals to make it a 10-1 game before Harley would score her second and final goal of the day at the 10:22 mark, this time off a Jacklyn Prillaman pass.
Megan Allen added a goal for Ferrum four minutes later, but Virginia Wesleyan answered with four goals to end the half, two by Burt, and take a commanding 15-3 lead into the break.
The pace slowed in the second half, with the Marlins outscoring Ferrum 6-1 to close out the game. Allen scored her second goal of the day on a man-up opportunity with 3:42 left to play. Micaela Harvey was credited with the assist on Allen's goal.

Coach Karen Harvey's team will graduate just one senior in May, Prillaman, while 16 players on this year's roster are eligible to return for the 2020 season.
