Ferrum Drops Women's Lacrosse Opener at Roanoke

SALEM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped its 2019 women's lacrosse season opener to Roanoke College this afternoon on the road, falling 25-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at Kerr Stadium.

Ferrum (0-1)

Jenn Schwechheimer broke the ODAC women's lacrosse single game scoring record with 17 points on nine goals and eight assists.

The Maroons led 7-0 less than five minutes into the game and poured it on in building an 18-0 lead at the break. Roanoke outshot Ferrum 51-3.

Coach Karen Harvey's team will play its home-opener Thursday, Feb. 28, against Salem College. The non-conference game is set for a 4:00 p.m. start at W.B. Adams Stadium.
