Women's Lacrosse Picked 9th in ODAC Poll

FERRUM, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced its 2019 Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll, and Ferrum College had been picked ninth in a field of 10 schools that sponsor the sport.

Washington and Lee University earned 81 points, including nine of the 10 possible first-place votes, to grab the top spot. Randolph-Macon College is second with 71 points and the other first-place vote. Lynchburg College checks in at third with 65 points. Ferrum closed with 16 points.

The Panthers return six players from last year's team that went 9-8 overall and 5-4 in the USA South Athletic Conference. Junior attack Kaitlyn Harley was the Panthers' top scorer last season, posting 66 points on 52 goals and 14 assists.

The Panthers are led by 13th-year Head Coach Karen Harvey. The Panthers open the season Monday, Feb. 25, at Roanoke College. The ODAC game gets underway at 4:00 p.m. in Salem, Virginia.
