Bove Has Career Game in Win Over Hollins

FERRUM, Va. -- Julianne Bove had a career-high 10 goals to lead Ferrum College to an 18-10 non-conference women's lacrosse win over Hollins University this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium. The win was the second straight for the Panthers.

How It Happened
Hollins' Valerie Helmbrecht opened scoring 1:24 into the game, but Ferrum answered with a pair of goals in the next two minutes to take the lead, one each by Meghin Martin and Jacklyn Prillaman. Helmbrecht tied the game at 2-2 at 26:18, then Bove scored the first of her 10 goals at the 25:36 mark. Ferrum led 5-3 at 12:45 of the first half when Bove began a streak of four goals over the next nine minutes, two each sandwiched around Martin's second goal. The Panthers led 11-4 at halftime and eventually widened the lead to 14-4 on two Bove goals and one by Haley Overstreet to open the second half.

Record Day for Bove
Bove's 10 goals tied the school record for single game goals, held by former standout Brooke Hewartson, and her 11 points is tied second on the all-time single game points list. Bove toook 19 shots today, which is also second on the all-time single game list.
