USA South Release
FERRUM, Va. -- The 2016 USA South Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team has been announced and Ferrum College has two players honored. Senior Julianne Bove was named first team, while Graceanne Gershner is a second team pick.
Bove led Ferrum in scoring this season with 66 goals, 17 assists and 83 points. She closed out the season second in the USA South in both goals and points. Gershner started every game and played all but five minutes the entire season in net for the Panthers. Her 150 saves is #1 in the league at the close of the regular season, and her 41.4 save percentage is third.
Meredith College swept the individual awards, with Carlee Joseph earning Player of the Year, Julie Capretti Rookie of the Year and Lauren Scott Coach of the Year. The USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school. Ferrum's representative is Audrey Ramsey.
Ferrum finished the season 6-10 overall and 1-5 in USA South play under 10th-year Head Coach Karen Harvey. The Panthers graduate six players, and 12 are eligible to return to the team next season.
