FERRUM, Va. - Ferrum College suffered a 12-5 loss to Southern Virginia University in non-conference women's lacrosse action this afternoon at The Fields.

How It Happened
Southern Virginia led 5-0 to open the game and eventually held a 6-1 halftime lead. Ferrum made a game of it to start the second half with back-to-back-to-back goals by Julianne Bove, Shyanne Carr and Audrey Ramsey to trim the lead to 6-4 at the 23:25 mark. The Knights responded with a pair of goals to extend their lead to 8-4 with 16:53 remaining. Haley Overstreet scored Ferrum's final goal less than a minute later and the score was 8-5. SVU closed the game with four unanswered goals to claim the win.
