Panther Women Complete Day One at Wasp Invitational

ABINGDON, Va. -- Ferrum College's women's golf team completed first day action at the 2019 Wasp Invitational. The Panthers are one of four teams competing, and sit in fourth place after the first day of action at the par-72, 5800-yard Glenrochie Country Club.

Bridgewater leads the team field at 336, three strokes ahead of Southern Virginia University (339). University of Lynchburg (352) is third and Ferrum (412) is fourth.

Lynchburg's Lily Self sits atop the leaderboard after firing a first-round 75. Southern Virginia's Shelby VanAusdal carded a 78, followed by Lynchburg's Maddie Cody at 79. Ferrum's Jetta Huffman is tied for fifth at 82.
