FERRUM, Va. -- Maggie Self had a season-high 16 points, but Ferrum College fell 82-63 to Bridgewater College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball action this afternoon at Swartz Gym.

The Eagles never trailed in this game, opening a 5-0 lead at the outset and held an 18-14 edge after one quarter. Ferrum trailed 36-28 at the break, but used a 5-0 run in the first 90 seconds of play in the third quarter to trim the lead to 36-33 on Self's jumper at 8:46.
The Eagles responded with a 6-0 run to grab a 42-33 lead, then extended the lead to 10 points three times before the end of the third. Jacy Marvin converted a pair of free throws for Ferrum to close out the third down 59-52.
Bridgewater used a 20-7 run in the fourth, capped by Madison Baum's layup with 2:44 left to play, to extend its lead to 20 points at 79-59.
