FERRUM, Va. --Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball game at home, falling 61-51 to Roanoke College tonight at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Ferrum trailed by 10 after the first quarter, but exploded for 19 points in th second to take a 32-30 lead into the break. Jacy Marvin's layup at 5:46 of the third quarter gave Ferrum its biggest lead at 37-32, but the Maroons responded with an 11-2 run to close out the quarter with a 43-39 advantage.

The Panthers got to within five points on Jasmine Barr's layup with 2:21 left in regulation, only to see Roanoke score the last five points of the game on a layup and free throw by Kayla Kinsler and a pair of freebies by Whitney Hopson.
