FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College women's basketball team went on the road Sunday, Jan. 24, and picked up a crucial USA South victory over North Carolina Wesleyan College, 69-49, at Everett Gym.

Only leading 32-29 at halftime, the Panthers connected on 14-of-31 attempts in the second half to pull away from their fellow conference member.

Leading Ferrum (11-5, 7-4 USA South) to the win was Brittney Bullock, who led all scorers with 21 points.  Tesla Akers registered 18 points to go along with a game-high six steals. 

Continuing her sizzlin' sophomore campaign, Kristen Keith recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Panthers. 

The Bishops (0-14, 0-9 USA South) were led by Imani Graham, who earned her second straight double-double, with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The Panthers pounded the ball into the paint, outscoring N.C. Wesleyan 44-20 in that category.  Ferrum also forced 32 Bishop turnovers, that led to 24 Panther points.

Ferrum, leading 38-37 with 12:52 remaining in the second half, went on an 11-0 run that would seal the Panthers' 11th victory of the season.

The Panthers return to the court tomorrow night, Tuesday, Jan. 26, to host Lynchburg College.  The non-conference match-up tips off at 7:00 p.m.
