FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College men's and women's swimming teams split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference meet with visiting Virginia Wesleyan University this morning at the Swartz Gym Pool. The Panther women won 81-59, and the Panthers fell 85-64.

Prior to the meet, the teams honored Ferrum graduating swimmers Mariah Banks and Jonathan Kraft with a Senior Day ceremony. The Panthers got a pair of wins each from Katie Shoaf and Hunter Tharpe on the women's side and Taylor Darnell on the men's. Shoaf won the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Tharp won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke, and Darnell won the 1000 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Also winning races today were Courtney Moyer in the women's 50 freestyl,) and Jacob Blaukovitch in the men's 100 breaststroke.
