Swimmers Compete at Greensboro Invitational

CARY, N.C. -- Ferrum College's swimming teams competed Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17-18, at the Greensboro College Invitational, held at Triangle Aquatic Center. The Panther men finished third of six teams,while the women were fourth of seven teams. In the combined standings, Ferrum was fourth of eight teams.

The Panthers had a number of standout performances, including first-place finishes by Hunter Tharpe in the women's 200 backstroke, Katie Shoaf in the women's 200 butterfly and Taylor Darnell in the men's 200 butterfly. Tharpe and Darnell each had a second place finish as well.

Coach Margaret Parcell Bisnett's teams will be back in the pool Saturday, January 12, at home against Virginia Wesleyan University. The ODAC meet will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will include a pre-meet Senior Day sceremony.
