Panthers, Wasps Split ODAC Softball Doubleheader

EMORY, Va. -- Ferrum College split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference softball doubleheader, winning the opener 5-4 and lossing the nightcap 10-2 in five innings this afternoon at Wasp Field.

THE BASICS
The Panthers trailed 3-0 after five innings in the opener, but scored five runs in the sixth to take the lead, two on Kassie Widner's RBI single to center field. Ashton Lambeth pitched all seven innigs to earn the win and run her record to 12-3 this season on the mound.

In the nighcap, the Wasps scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, including a two-run bomb by Anna Thomas, to end the game early.
