Maroons Take Both Ends of ODAC Softball Doubleheader

FERRUM, Va. – Roanoke College handed Ferrum College a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference softball losses, 5-3 and 18-14, tonight at American National Bank Field.

THE BASICS
Lois Carpenter's solo homer and Cheyenne Strickland's RBI double in the fifth inning put Ferrum out in front 3-2 in the opener. The Maroons came back to score a pair of runs in the sixth and tacked on a run in the seventh for the win.

The nightcap was a wild see-saw battle in which the Maroons overcame a 9-8 deficit with eight runs in the sixth inning, then hung on for the win. Bailey Oakes had a three-run homer to right field in the seventh inning for the Panthers.
