FERRUM, Va. – Ferrum College split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference softball doubleheader with University of Lynchburg, taking the opener 3-2 and losing the nightcap 10-4 tonight at American National Bank Field. Lynchburg is currently ranked #15 in the most recent NFCA national poll.

Tori Scott had a solo home run in the sixth inning to account for the winning run in the opener. Ashton Lambeth pitched well, scattering seven hits over a complete seven-inning game and allowing two earned runs with a walk and one strikeout to improve to 7-1 this season on the mound.
In the nightcap, the Hornets exploded for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 4-4 stalemate, then held on to get the ODAC split. It was the league opener for both schools.
