FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College sophomore Chloe Brzycki has been named Softball Player of the Week by the USA South for her part in the Panthers' 5-3 record last week.
Brzycki, a sophomore from Lynchburg, Virginia, batted .379 last week, going 11-29 with three home runs, two doubles, seven runs, 12 RBI and a pair of walks.
In a doubleheader sweep of USA South opponent Mary Baldwin College March 28 on the road, Brzycki was a combined 2-for-8 with two RBI, two runs scored and one double. She went 2-4 in a doubleheader split with USA South rival Greensboro College March 29 at home, with two RBI, two runs and a home run.
Finally in a doubleheader sweep of USA South opponent Peace College March 31 at home, Brzycki was a combined 6-8 with seven RBI, three runs, two home runs and one double. Her walk-off two-run homer in the sixth inning halted the nightcap.
Also nominated for USA South Softball Player of the Week were Jenna Rudder of Averett University, Meredith Mills of North Carolina Wesleyan College, Jordan Adams of Methodist University, Jennifer Falin of Christopher Newport University, and Denise Mitchell of Shenandoah University.
