FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College split a USA South softball doubleheader with Greensboro College tonight at Franklin Community Bank Field, losing the opener 6-3 before taking the nightcap 2-1.

Chloe Brzycki had a two-run homer in the sixth inning of game one for Ferrum.  Hannah Shumaker pitched all seven innings for the Panthers, allowing 11 hits and four earned runs with four strikeouts.  Kelsey Sanflippo struck out seven batters to earn the win for the Pride (15-11, 6-2 USA South).

Kaitlyn Culler pitched a six-inning one-hitter to earn the win in game two.  Culler allowed a run and two walks, and struck out five.  Rachel Shumaker earned the save, facing three batters without allowing a hit.

The Panthers (24-8, 8-4 USA South) return to action Saturday, March 31, at home against Peace College.  The USA South doubleheader gets underway at 1:00 p.m. in Ferrum.
