Pacers Nip Ferrum Men 5-4

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College suffered a non-conference men's tennis loss this afternoon at home, falling 5-4 to William Peace University at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts.

Patrick Marsh and Jacob Glass won 8-5 at #2 doubles, while Marshall Ownby and David Bishop  rolled 8-0 at #3 doubles to spot the Panthers a 2-1 lead after doubles.

The Pacers grabbed four of six singles matches to claim the win. Riley Kern won in straights at #2 singles and Houston Murphy won a tough three-set match at #6 singles.

Coach Rod Baker's team will be back in action Friday, March 22, at Roanoke College. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference match gets underway at 3:00 p.m. in Salem, Virginia.
