FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College had been picked 11th in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference 2019 Preseason Men's Tennis Poll.
Washington and Lee University grabbed top billing, earning 121 points and 11 of the possible 12 first-place votes. Guilford College earned the other first-place nod and has 107 points in earning the #2 spot.
Hampden-Sydney College checks in third with 101 points. Ferrum earned 21 points. A total of 12 teams compete in ODAC men's tennis.

Injuries and a few individual departures from the team resulted in a winless season for the Panthers in 2018. Ferrum finished 0-17 overall and 0-10 in the USA South Athletic Conference. The Panthers net men are led by fifth-year Head Coach Rod Baker, with four players returning from last season and one returning from the 2017 season.
Baker's team will open the season Friday, Feb. 22, at the University of Lynchburg. The ODAC match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. in Lynchburg, Virginia. Ferrum will then play its home opener Sunday, Feb. 24, against Randolph College, with a 1:00 p.m. start time at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts.
