
FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College sophomore Sam May scored a golden goal in the first overtime period to lift the Panthers to a 2-1 non-conference men's soccer win over William Peace University this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
Following a scoreless first half, Mbambi Mbongu got Ferrum on the board with a goal at 56:21. William Peace came right back, with Ivan Ponce lifting a shot over Ferrum goalkeeper Derek Thomas one minute later to force overtime. May took a pass from Mbongu 6:25 into the first overtime and slipped it past WPU keeper Jacob Smith to end the match.
