Strong Finish Lifts Ferrum Men Past FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. -- Ferrum College scored three goals in the final 23 minutes of play to break a 1-1 tie and roll to a 4-1 non-conference men's soccer win at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham.

Jonah Woyansky took a pass from Jose' Bonafasi and got past goalkeeper Liam Ryan for the early score at 9:06 to spot Ferrum a 1-0 lead. The Devils answered wih a goal by Justin Estremera at the 57-minute mark to knot the game.

Michael Lyons converted a free kick from just outside the box at 66:24 to put the Panthers on top 2-1. Sam May then added an insurance goal at 85:11 off a pass from Adam Smith, then Moore Dolue beat Ryan on a breakaway with just under three minutes left to play.

Lyons has scored two goals in as many games this season for the Panthers. Goalkeeper Marco Rivera made his first start and played all 90 minutes in net for Ferrum, making five saves. Liam Ryan did the same for FDU-Florham with eight stops.

Crehan's team will be back in action Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Bethany College. The non-conference game gets underway at 1:00 p.m. in Bethany, West Virginia.
