Maroons Beat Ferrum in Men's Lacrosse

SALEM, Va. – Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's lacrosse game to Roanoke College tonight on the road, falling 23-2 at Kerr Stadium.

Roanoke (9-5, 5-2 ODAC)
Ferrum (1-12, 0-6 ODAC)

Roanoke led 2-0 early on but Ferrum's Ronald Carney made it a 2-1 game with a goal at the 8:31 mark of the first quarter. That was as close as the Panthers would get as the Maroons used a 5-0 run to end the quarter, then a 9-0 spurt in the second to put the game out of reach, 15-1 at the break.

Roanoke used a 7-0 run in the third quarter before Carney posted his second goal of the game with 3:45 left to play. For the game, Roanoke out-shot Ferrum 64-16 and won 27 of 29 faceoffs.

Coach Mike Baggetta's team will be back in action Saturday, April 13, at home against Washington and Lee University Saturday. The ODAC game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start at W.B. Adams Stadium.
