Ferrum Falls 12-8 to Methodist in Men's Lacrosse

FERRUM, Va. -- Mackoy Bodmer had six goals as Ferrum College fell 12-8 to Methodist University in non-conference men's lacrosse action tonight at W.B. Adams Stadium.

Methodist raced out to a 5-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Bodmer scored his first goal two and a half minutes into the second quarter, then added another goal four minutes later to trim the lead to 5-2. The Monarchs responded with four goals, two by AJ Mejia, to expand the lead to 9-2 at the break.

Bodmer added a goal to open the third quarter, then Methodist punched two in to make it an 11-3 game. Ferrum rallied with four straight goals, one each by Ronald Carney and Jacob Boswell, and two by Bodmer to close the third at 11-7. Bodmer's final goal came with 2:15 left in the game and trimmed the lead to 11-8, but Methodist would score a minute later for the final count.

Coach Michael Baggetta's team will play next on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Averett University. The non-conference game is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start in Danville, Virginia.
