FERRUM, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced its 2019 Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll and Ferrum College has been picked to finish in 10th place. The Panthers are one of 11 ODAC teams that sponsor men's lacrosse.
Washington and Lee University grabbed the top spot with 96 points and seven first-place votes. University of Lynchburg holds the #2 spot with 91 points and three first-place votes, while Roanoke College is third with 86 points and one first-place vote. Ferrum earned 16 points in the poll.

Second-year Head Coach Michael Baggetta leads the Panthers. The team finished 5-12 overall and 2-4 in the USA South Athletic Conference last season is Baggetta's head coaching debut.
Senior midfielder Jacob Boswell is the team's leading returning scorer, having posted 27 points on 18 goals and nine assists. Sophomore attack Mackoy Bodmer had 25 points a year ago on 13 goals and 12 assists.
Senior goalkeeper Koby McMahon spent the lion's share of minutes between the pipes in 2018, registering 948 minutes with a 9.82 goals-against average and .50 save percentage.
Ferrum opens the season Saturday, Feb. 16, at home against Methodist University. The two teams were USA South rivals before Ferrum left the league last summer in order to join the ODAC. The non-conference game is set for a 7:00 p.m. start at W.B. Adams Stadium.
