FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's basketball game tonight at home, falling 72-59 to Roanoke College at Swartz Gym.

Ferrum (5-19, 4-11 ODAC)
The two teams traded leads early on, then Roanoke surged in front 36-26 with 1:42 left in the first half. Ferrum used a 5-0 run, a layup by Marcus Plair and a three-pointer by Nick Helton, to close the gap to five points at the break.
The Maroons opened the second half with an 8-0 run and eventually widened the lead to 17 points. The Panthers got as close as 11 points when Helton drained a three-pointer with 1:54 left in regulation to cut it to 67-56, but the Maroons held on for the win.
Coach Tyler Sanborn's team will close out the season Saturday, Feb. 16, at home against Virginia Wesleyan College. The ODAC game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
