FERRUM, Va. --Ferrum College dropped a non-conference men's basketball game tonight at home to Methodist University, falling 77-58 at Swartz Gym.

The Panthers trailed 32-27  with 1:58 left in the first half, but a three-pointer by Marcus Huff and a free throw by Rashad Reed, cut it to 32-31 with a minute left in the first half.

Methodist used a 5-0 run to close the half and extend the lead to six points at the break. The Monarchs used a 12-6 run to open the second half in widening the lead to 12 points at 49-37, and were never threatened from there.

Coach Tyler Sanborn's team will be back in action Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17-18, at the Mary Washington Tip-Off Classic in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Panthers play North Carolina Wesleyan College Saturday at 5:00 p.m., then take on host Mary Washington Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
