Ferrum Men Fall in Season Opener at Lynchburg


LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Ferrum College's men's basketball team opened the season with a road loss to Lynchburg College, falling 75-57 at Turner Gymnasium.

Lynchburg jumped out to a 4-0 lead early on, then used a 23-18 run to close out the first half with an 11-point lead. The Hornets eventually opened their biggest lead at 23 points on Austin Wrighten's three-pointer with just over three minutes left to play.

Coach Tyler Sanborn's team will be back in action Tuesday, Nov. 13, at home against Methodist University. The non-conference game tips off at 7:00 p.m. at Swartz Gym.
