Overstreet Joins Ferrum Coaching Staff

FERRUM, Va. -- Director of Athletics Abe Naff has announced the hiring of Haley Overstreet as Assistant Field Hockey Coach. Overstreet served this past fall as Volunteer Assistant Field Hockey Coach.

A former three-sport student-athlete at Ferrum, Overstreet became the first woman to score goals in three different sports for the Panthers ... field hockey, lacrosse and soccer.

Overstreet will work with fifth-year Head Coach Carrie Hanshue Austin, who she played for in 2016.

"I am thrilled to welcome Haley back to our program! I feel very fortunate to have the chance to work with her on a full-time basis. She really impressed me in her role as a volunteer coach this past season. Haley brings an excellent work rate, strong tactical awareness, an eye for talent, and best of all, a passion for Ferrum College and our students." --Head Coach Carrie Hanshue Austin

Overstreet earned a bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in exercise and sports studies and a minor in coaching from Ferrum in December 2016.

During her time here, Overstreet worked two years in the Ferrum Sports Information Office, serving as play-by-play commentary for live streams and running statistics for many home athletic events.
