Bullard Named ODAC Football Defensive Player of the Week

ODAC Week 10 Report

FERRUM, Va. -- Zach Bullard became Ferrum College's third football player this season to earn a Player of the Week honor from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Bullard was named Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Panthers' 28-23 league win over ODAC front-runner Randolph-Macon College Nov. 3 in Ashland, Virginia.

A senior linebacker from Culpeper, Virginia, Bullard posted 10 tackles, eight of which were solo stops and one was for loss. Bullard made his first interception of the season in the third quarter, one that stopped a Yellow Jacket drive in Ferrum's red zone, and returned it 40 yards to help the Panthers preserve the upset victory.

Bullard joins junior quarterback Zack Clifford and junior running back Brian Mann, who earned Offensive Player of the Week honors once each this season. Clifford earned the honor Oct. 23 after the Panthers blasted non-conference opponent Greensboro College 81-0 Sept. 22 at home. Mann earned the honor Oct. 28 following Ferrum's 32-19 ODAC win over Hampden-Sydney College Oct. 27 at home.

Coach Rob Grande's team will host Bridgewater College Saturday, Nov. 10. Kickoff for the ODAC game is slated for 2:00 p.m. following a brief Senior Day ceremony to honor Ferrum's graduating players.
