Football Set to Host Hall of Fame Game

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College is set to host a non-conference football game Saturday, September 22, against Greensboro College. The game coincides with Ferrum's Alumni Sports Hall of Fame Weekend, in which five individuals will be enshrined as part of the Class of 2018 during a special ceremony Saturday at 11:00 a.m. before the Panther football game with Greensboro.

The Ferrum-Greensboro football game markc the23rd time the two teams have met, with the Panthers holding a commanding 18-4 series lead. Ferrum Coach Rob Grande and Greensboro Coach Greg Crum have faced each other twice in head-to-head meetings, with Grande winning both.

Ferrum and Greensboro both bring 1-1 records into the game. The two teams were confernece opponents for the past decade plus in the USA South Athletic Conference prior to Ferrum leaving the league this summer in order to join the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Kickoff Saturday is set for 2:00 p.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium.

     * Two-year member of the Ferrum men's basketball team 1966-68
     * Went on to play 13 years for the Harlem Globetrotters
