Seth Crawford rejoined the Ferrum athletic staff as Head Athletic Trainer in August 2016. Crawford was an undergraduate student at Ferrum for two and a half years from 1992-94 before transferring to James Madison University to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a concentration in Athletic Training in 1997. He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Community Health Promotion from Virginia Tech in 2002.
Crawford worked at Lucas Therapies in Roanoke, Virginia, from 1997-98 as a Physical Therapist Technician. He joined the Ferrum athletic staff in 1998 as Assistant Athletic Trainer, then was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in 2001.
He left Ferrum in 2004 to become Head Athletic Trainer at nearby Franklin County High School, leaving in 2011 to accept a position as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke. Crawford is a Certified Athletic Trainer, holds a license to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the commonwealth of Virginia, and is CPR-certified.
Crawford manages Ferrum’s sports medicine staff of six, providing care for over 500 student-athletes within the College’s athletic program that includes 21 varsity teams and two club programs. The state-of-the-art sports medicine center is located in the lower level of the Hank Norton Center, which opened in May 2012.
