Paul Jaglowski '12 has been involved with the Maison Fortune Orphanage (MFO) in Hinche, Haiti, for nearly a decade and recently became a member of the Board of Directors for the Foundation that runs the orphanage. In the fall of 2015, Jaglowski hosted a fundraising effort in support of the orphanage that raised $9,000 and enabled them to buy a new generator and repaint the school buildings and dormitories on campus.
Since Jaglowski's first trip in 2007, the orphanage has grown immensely in size and capacity thanks to the support of donors. In June 2015, he made his fourth trip to Haiti to visit the orphanage with several friends, and was reminded how much work still needs to be done. Jaglowski continues efforts to fundraise for the orphanage, with the goal of raising money to allow for older kids on campus to attend high school.
This upcoming year, like the eight years before, the primary school will open its doors not only to our 100 primary school aged residents but will also enroll over 150 community children at no cost, allowing them to live at home with their families while receiving an education that otherwise would be out of reach. Maison Fortune then goes one step further, working with local high schools and enrolling our teen-aged residents, preparing them as Haiti’s future leaders. In school year 2016-17, we will have 80 eligible high school residents and will cover their costs to attend one of three local high schools at the average cost of $250 each for the year. We welcome your support towards our education costs- online donations can be made by visiting www.mfofoundation.org. Tax deductible donations have an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of nearly 200 children. Information on how to help with the fundraiser can be found at the links below.

His Own Words
"The folks at Maison Fortune Orphanage have worked hard to help better the lives of so many young people. I've been blessed to have the opportunity to work with them over the past 10 years and am excited to continue to provide as much support as possible. I sincerely welcome anyone reading this to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to get more involved."
My Ferrum Days
Jaglowski earned All-Conference honors four times during his collegiate playing career at Ferrum. He was the 2012 USA South Baseball Player of the Year, and was Ferrum's fourth Academic All-American. Jaglowski was also the 2012 Ferrum College President's Cup Recipient, an award given annually to the College's top graduating student-athlete.
“While I am proud of the education I received at Ferrum, the most rewarding experience of my four years was the time spent on the baseball field and in the off season with my coaches and teammates. The accountability I learned and the commitment it took to be a successful student-athlete helped me develop a work ethic and leadership skills that prepared me for my current job in the dynamic industry of management consulting.”
