BURLINGTON, N.C. -- The Ferrum College women's tennis team fell 9-0 to #2 seed Meredith College Friday, April 17, at the 2009 USA South Tournament.

Kiawna Berry, who earlier in the week was named to the USA South All-Conference team as an honorable mention, lost 6-1, 6-2 to Kathryn Maples at #3 singles.  Berry closed the season at 6-9 in singles.

Lea McMillan dropped an 8-4 match to Molly Parks at #6 singles.  McMillan posted Ferrum's best record this season, going 7-5 at #6 singles.

With the loss, the Panthers close out the 2009 season at 4-12 under first-year head coach Lew Hege.  Ferrum loses just one player to graduation this year, senior Brittany Rodgers.  Six other players are eligible to return.
