Freshman Kenny Kadar won at #3 singles and #2 doubles.
LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Ferrum College men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 7-2 non-conference win over Randolph College March 20 on the road.

The Panthers claimed wins at #1 and #3-6 singles, plus wins at #2-3 doubles.  Freshman Brandon Brown defeated Kyle Schneck 6-4, 6-4 at #1 singles, and freshman Kenny Kadar defeated Allen Marrs 6-3, 6-2 at #3 singles.

Sophomore Bob Dill won 6-1, 6-1 over Yanpaing Oo at #4 singles, freshman John Hartin won 6-0, 6-0 over Carl Coffey at #5 singles, and freshman Matt Mellone won 6-1, 6-0 over Ludovic Lemaitre at #6 singles.

Kadar and Dill also won in doubles.  Kadar teamed with sophomore KJ Paitsel for an 8-2 win over Marrs and Coffey at the #2 spot.  Dill teamed with senior Kevin Board for an 8-2 win over Oo and Guan Wang at #3 doubles.

Up next for Ferrum (1-5) are three matches next week.  The Panthers host Lynchburg College March 26, then open USA South Athletic Conference play March 27 at home against  Shenandoah University.  The Panthers then play league opponent Methodist University March 29 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
