With that, the 2007 team set a school record with number of conference wins in a season. In addition, Lagana recruited LaQuinta Garrett, Ferrum’s first All-Region player since 1995. Lagana’s 2008 team also proved successful, finishing 7-10-1 in the regular season, matching the most wins for the program since 1999.

Prior to coaching at Ferrum, Lagana came from Mary Baldwin College, where she served as Head Women's Soccer Coach and Sports Information Director during the fall of 2006. Prior to that, she served as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Mary Baldwin during the 2005-06 academic year.

Lagana is currently involved with home game operations as a volunteer with the Washington Freedom, from the Women’s Professional Soccer League. She has spent time observing the U.S. Women’s National Team over the past two years at the Algarve Cup in Portugal in 2009 and at a training camp in Cleveland, Ohio in 2010. Lagana is involved in the local youth soccer scene training youth club teams including Valley AFC and the Roanoke Star, both located in Roanoke, Virginia.

Lagana earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Bridgewater College in 2004, then went on to earn a Master's degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University in 2006. While at Bridgewater, Lagana was a four-year standout with the Eagle women's soccer program, earning All-State and All-Conference recognition. Lagana also played lacrosse for Bridgewater, earning All-Conference honors. A 2000 graduate of South Carroll High School in Winfield, Maryland, Lagana was her school's high school valedictorian. Lagana holds her Premier Diploma from the NSCAA.
